Jana Benscoter comes to Civitas with a background in print media. She has been covering various topics for 10 years that range from k-12 education to business to local government. Jana, an award-winning writer, has been published in The Rhinoceros Times in Greensboro, The York Dispatch, The Carolina Journal and Guilford Woman Magazine. She began her career in news reporting at The Boston Globe, where she was as an editorial assistant for four years. In Greensboro, Jana is the director of The Greensboro Youth Field Hockey League and head field hockey coach at Northwest Guilford High School. Jana majored in English at The University of Massachusetts.
